I haven’t posted a new quilt for a while. I usually stop quilting in the summer (although this year I did keep piecing quilt tops, so I have a bit of a backlog now) in favor of cross-stitching, which isn’t as hot on my lap, but now that the weather is cooler, I’ve started up again.
Anyway, here’s my latest finish. I call it the bug quilt.
It’s a nine-patch variation, alternated with snowball blocks. The centers of the snowball blocks are pieced from scraps and three bug prints from my stash (one with bumblebees, one with dragonflies, and one with an assortment of bugs).
Here’s a close-up of one of the snowball blocks, with one of the bug fabrics.
And you can see the quilting better in this photo, too.
I just added this quilt to my quilts page, which I think I may have to break down into multiple pages at some point. Or at least give the donation quilts their own page.
